Review: Avast! Free Antivirus is an antivirus software solution areliable designed to provide computer users with effective protection against viruses and spyware. Avast comes with a well-organized interface that addresses both novice users and professionals, all functions are displayed clearly even in the main window. Being careful during the installation, though, because the configuration is also trying to give a special search engine on your computer, although Avast does not need this application to work properly. However, once installed, Avast works simply gorgeous, with virus definitions updated even several times a day. Scanning process is very fast and is very light on hardware resources, but it all depends on the computer and files is to be scanned. I was pleased speedduring our tests, even if sometimes I was a little bothered boot time scanner. Raising scanner function is veryhandy, as it tries to scan the computer before the operating system is fully loaded and therefore before any virus is ready to take control of the file system. There are four scan modes, asfollows:?? Quick Scan, full system scan, scan removable media? Select a folder and scan? the latterallows for in-depth scanning of user definded location. Quickly scan? Government takes a few minutes, while a full government guarantee system canlast formore than half an hour, depending on the unit size and the amount of data stored locally. Moreover, Avast comes with tools designed to protect multiple applications running on your PC so that it also includes? File System Shield?, E-mail Shield? And Web Shield? And P2P Shield? to protect the peer-to-peer programs, instant messaging Shield? instant messaging clients? Network shield?, Script Shield? Shield and behavior?. All in all, Avast is a must have if Antivirus is looking areliable and extent aswe is concerned, this application is indeedseriouscompetition forother softwaretools belong thisparticular elite category. |
